Booby trap bomb found under car in Belfast

first_imgA VIABLE DEVICE found under a car was rendered safe in Belfast today.Police said the the “under car booby trap type device” was discovered just before 8am this morning in the Blacks Road area.The road was closed and a number of nearby homes were evacuated while the bomb disposal unit examined the device. It was made safe and has been taken away for further forensic examination.Detectives investigating the incident are asking anyone who may have travelled along the street and who may recall anything suspicious or unusual lying on the road to contact them. The are also appealing for anyone to come forward who may have observed any unknown vehicles or persons acting suspiciously in the area of Blacks Road.Anyone with any information is asked to contact Detectives in Woodbourne Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
