Security Council condemns weekend terrorist bombing in Egypt

“The Security Council reaffirms that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security and that any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable regardless of their motivation, whenever and by whomever committed,” said Ambassador Adamantios Vassilakis of Greece, which holds the Council’s Presidency for July.Reading out a statement in a formal meeting, Ambassador Vassilakis also expressed the Council’s deepest sympathies and condolences to the victims and their families and to the people and the Government of Egypt, as well as to all other countries whose citizens were killed or injured in the attack.
