Justice Teaching volunteers hit Marion County

first_img JUSTICE TEACHING VOLUNTEERS ROBIN ARNOLD AND RENEE PELZMAN recently conducted a two-and-one-half hour case study on Fourth Amendment search and seizure issues with seniors in an advanced placement government class at West Port High School in Marion County. For the past 20 years, Arnold, third from left, has served as an assistant state attorney and is currently the division supervisor of the Marion County State Attorney’s Office. Pelzman, second from left, recently relocated to Marion County from the South Florida area to open the Ocala office of the firm that she operates with her husband Brian. Their daughter is a student at West Port High School. A West Port senior who recently had been accepted to Stetson University advised the volunteers she is now rethinking her career options because the case study sparked her interest in how the judicial branch operates and interacts with the other branches of government. How can I make my 59FIFTY cap comfortable?

first_imgAll Activity 1 Forums Home I wear a 7 1/2 and the Cooperstown caps are noticeably larger than the same sized authentic collection caps. The next size up, 7 3/8, is ALWAYS too big on me. I usually have to try on a dozen 7 1/4’s before I can find one that fits just right. I like my hat to fit snug, but not tight. If I find a 7 1/4 that’s just a little on the tight side, I’ll do this: I wouldn’t say it makes the hat a whole size bigger, but it does make the cap slightly looser and a little more comfortable if it’s just a little too tight. But yeah, as stated above, just wearing it will break it in and make it more comfortable, if it’s the right size.I have this exact same problem. You must be EXACTLY a 7 1/4 and you can feel even a little bit of difference. 0 If you have a red line on your forehead you most likely bought a hat one size too small. Members Posted September 26, 2011 31,371 posts 7 Posted August 23, 2011 also 59/50 hats are hand stitched so u might have to try on a few of the same size to find on that fits u right, just got myself a new phillies hat a few weeks ago bc my old one had hat it and it took me trying on 4 diff hats of the same size to find on that fit me right Members I recently bought my first New Era 59FIFTY MLB cap, and it felt like a rock when I first put it on. Is it also supposed to leave a noticable red line on my forehead whenever I take it off after having worn it for 20 minutes? Are flat-brim caps just made to be less comfortable than, say the BP ones? My cap is definitely the perfect size, and I may just have to wait a little longer to make my final judgment, but I’ve heard tricks involving putting it in the washing machine to make it more smug and form-fitting. Can anyone confirm any ideas or give me other tested methods to try? Thanks in advance. 0 Link to post 10,716 Link to post 2 Link to post Followers 1 Share this post Link to post 20 I wear size 7 1/4, but most are too tight. My head size is in between 7 1/8 and 7 1/4. So I buy 7 1/8 and stretch it out because it’s a lot easier to make it stretch to fit your head then to make it shrink to your head. 0 kevinmets Link to post Connor Hanley BJBerthiaume 2 Posted September 26, 2011 It’s amazing how inconsistent New Era’s sizing is. (I admittedly have a gigantic head…) I own a size 8 Mets cap that is way too small on me and a 7 7/8 that is way too big. I think when you buy them online, the sizes run bigger than in a store. Weird indeed. I suggest you try them on in the store first, and keep that little bit of info in mind. Share this post 2 jrodsep 22,644 1 If you’re wearing it with the brim flat, put a curve in that sucker, should help tremendously. Funky Bunky Link to post The sizes should be the same from regular to low-crown. Size is determined by the circumference of the cap, measured along the sweatband. But New Era’s had more than its share of quality control issues in the past; you could look at five different 7 1/4s and get four different measurements. Don’t know what they’re like lately. Hope they’ve improved on that score. Prev 0 567 Link to post I read online that with the new 59FIFTY hats, the best way to break them in is to sweat in it. Once the hat and sweat start doing their thing, the hat begins to mold very nicely to your head. Wear the hat on a jog or something and if you get to sweat a decent amount, the hat should start molding. Apparently putting the new 59FIFTYS in the washing machine or the bathtub or whatever other people do doesn’t work on the new hats as well as it worked on the old 59FIFTYS. Is the fit the same as a regular 59fifty (with the exception of the crown)? What I mean is I went to my local Lids store and tried on a 7 and it was a really tight fit. I tried a 7 1/8 and it fit good. Are the sizes the same fit? Members Posted August 23, 2011 2 ltjets21 Members Banned Posted August 23, 2011 414 Posted August 23, 2011 1,875 posts Don’t wash it that will ruin the brim….. take a steamy shower and put the hat right outside the shower, that is the best way to break it in. Whenever I’m actually lucky enough to be somewhere that sells my teams’ caps, I’ll usually have to try on a half dozen caps to find one that fits just right. I also wish they’d make more “simpler designed” baseball caps in stretch-fit sizing. Those always seem to be overly-embellished fashion hats, when I really just want a cap that looks like the team’s regular in-game cap, but in a stretch-fit. You want it to have a little bit of “wiggle room”. It makes it much more comfortable, and if you’re younger and still growing (like me) it will fit even if you grow a little. My actual size is 7 1/2, but I always buy 7 5/8. I have a bunch of 7 1/8-7 3/8 hats from when I was a bit younger…. man, I wish I could exchange them for bigger ones! 5,068 posts Posted August 24, 2011 Share this post 0 BJBerthiaume Share on other sites 2,566 posts 2,517 Favourite Logos:Vancouver Canucks, Washington Capitals, Hartford Whalers uniguy22 Share on other sites 1 Share on other sites 0 Location:Tampa Bay Trevell 2 154 Next Share on other sites 17,646 posts 1 20 1 1 414 If you wear it more it’ll break In and take the shape of your head (if it’s the right size). If I measure my head, the tape measure reads just about exactly 57.7cm, which is what a 7 1/4 hat is supposed to be.
