Exclusive: Darimo T1 Loop seatpost holds your saddle w/ ultralight Dyneema rope

first_imgWe’ve seen some great ultralight carbon tech from custom cockpit maker Darimo over the last year. But now they’ve taken it to new, ever lighter extremes with a wild new seatpost head that clamps your lightweight saddle with a pair of rope loops made of the world’s strongest fiber, Dyneema – and of course sheds grams in the process…Darimo T1 Loop, Dyneema fiber rope saddle clampThe new seatpost clamp is named the Loop and uses two precisely made, 100% Dyneema fiber loops to tension the saddle rails atop Darimo’s already crazy light T1 carbon seatpost. Compared to their already carbon standard cradle, the new Loop clamp sheds another 8g, meaning their 400mm long T1 Loop seatpost now comes in at or below 90g.photos c. DarimoWhile weight savings is great (and will satisfy the nerdiest weight weenie), the new ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (yeah, that’s what Dyneema is) loop is said to be ‘totally indestructible’. by eliminating the clamp edges of the ‘regular’ carbon cradle, this one might be even better served for rougher, off-road use.The extra benefit, anyone who already has a Darimo T1 seatpost can retrofit it with the new Loop clamp.Darimo Dyneema Loop details & actual weightsCompared to the 18.7g carbon seat cradle & aluminum barrels of the standard clamp, the new 10.4g Dyneema guts & barrels shed a few more precious grams (both designs share the same titanium bolts, which are not shown on the scale). On such a light overall design, that adds up to an 8% total seatpost weight savings! Now a complete T1 Loop 31.6mm diameter, 400mm long UD finish post weighs just under 91g with the new clamping setup. And of course, Darimo still makes these to order in the workshop in Spain. So they can probably even lay up a lighter seatpost, or certainly do most any length or diameter your next super bike project needs. The price of the new T1 Loop is just 300€ (not even 10% more than the regular T1, and still cheaper than the setback T2.) Brown targets Chelsea first-team place

first_imgIzzy Brown wants to use his loan spell at Rotherham United to prove he is good enough for Chelsea’s first team. The 19-year-old made his debut for the Millers on Saturday as they beat Brentford 1-0.AdChoices广告Brown spent last term in the Netherlands with Vitesse Arnhem, scoring once in 22 appearances, but believes making an impact closer to home will help him fulfill his long-term ambition. He said: “I just want to show I’m capable of playing in the Chelsea first team – my dream is to be a first-team regular.“It’s okay playing a few games here and there but I want to have a shirt number and play every game, week in week out.“If you’re doing well in England and everyone’s watching and seeing what you’re capable of, hopefully it’ll pass on through to Chelsea.”Brown was denied a debut goal by a touch off the legs of Bees keeper Dan Bentley and admitted the pace of the Championship was a big step up from youth-team football.“I haven’t witnessed anything like that before, it’s something I need to get used to,” he said.“Under-21s football is nothing compared to the Championship. It’s so much more difficult.“You have no time. Every time you have the ball, there’s either someone in your back or someone coming in front of you – so you have to think quick and make quick decisions. I just tried to keep things simple.“My legs felt a bit heavy going into the second half, because I had the European Championships [with England] and then I had six days off before I was back training with Chelsea.” Follow West London Sport on TwitterFind us on Facebook See also:Teenager Brown signs new Chelsea contractHow Chelsea’s youngsters fared at Vitesse ArnhemChelsea’s Brown shines in England Under-19 triumphBlues prospect joins Millers on loanChelsea youngsters thrash LiverpoolChelsea Under-23s v Liverpool: three stand-out performersWest Ham looking to sign Remy on loanlast_img read more
