FacebookTwitterWhatsAppEmail Prime Minister Bruce Golding has said that the over 2,000 houses and service lots to be developed in a housing project funded by a US$ 71.2 million loan from the Chinese government, is further manifestation of the solid, strong relationship that exists between the two countries. The $6.5 billion project will complete housing solutions in St. Ann and St. Elizabeth. The fund will be repaid over 20 years with a moratorium of five years.“The relationship in recent times between Jamaica and China is critical for the country to weather the global recession and to achieve the objectives that have been set out. I express sincere appreciation to the Chinese government and its people for their support,” Mr. Golding said.PM Golding was speaking at the ground breaking ceremony of the Belle Air Development housing project in St. Ann yesterday (Dec 15).He added that the project represents a balanced and flexible approach to providing housing solutions and will alleviate the squatting problem. He added that in addition to the new houses and service lots, there will be an upgrade of lots under the Operation Pride Scheme. The China National Complete Plant Import and Export Corporation have been awarded the contract and the Prime Minister told residents that he hopes they will learn from the Chinese and a transfer of technology and culture will take place.Minister of Water and Housing, Dr. Horace Chang said the housing project in St. Ann marks a significant development for the north coast as it will provide housing solutions for low to middle income workers in the tourism industry. Vermont Business Magazine Two major and anonymous financial commitments totaling $100,000 have been committed to Porter Medical Center in Middlebury in the form of “challenge grants” intended to encourage others to support the upcoming “People for Porter” annual campaign. Through these challenge grants, every donation made to Porter between September 15 and December 31 will be matched on a 2-1 basis by these donors according to Porter’s Vice President for Development Ron Hallman. “We are deeply grateful to these anonymous friends who have come together to offer this incredible challenge opportunity for our local supporters,” he said. “This is a unique opportunity for every member of this community to have their individual donation, regardless of the amount, to essentially be tripled thanks to the availability of these matching funds.”The Porter Medical Center annual campaign supports the work of both Porter Hospital and Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and provides resources for health care programs, new equipment and other special projects. The 2016 annual campaign is chaired by Porter’s Interim CEO, Dr Fred Kniffin, who has personally signed more than 1,000 letters that will be mailed next week to current PMC donors, but he emphasized that this is a community-wide effort. “Porter needs the support of our community now more than ever, and I hope that both long-time donors and new friends will take this special opportunity to demonstrate their support of our community hospital and skilled nursing facility,” he said.Porter Hospital, founded in 1925, is a not-for-profit community hospital. It offers comprehensive medical care and 24-hour emergency services to residents, students and staff of Middlebury College and visitors to the area. It also owns and operates a 105 bed long-term care facility (blue roof in above picture) which provides nursing home care, short-term rehabilitation and dementia services.Source: Porter Medical Center 9.6.2016 www.portermedical.org(link is external)

That Ole Miss (7-2, 4-1 SEC) may have a tough time closing the deal and Auburn (4-4, 1-4 SEC) a tough time earning bowl eligibility.Ole Miss has terrific receivers, especially junior Laquon Treadwell. Treadwell, whose 2014 season ended with a broken leg as he prepared to cross the goal line against Auburn with what would have been the winning touchdown, had a standout Saturday in the 27-19 victory. Those who have Treadwell as the top receiver in their 2016 mock NFL drafts saw nothing that would make them reconsider that ranking. Treadwell caught seven passes for 114 yards and a touchdown, and he also threw a pass, ran well after the catch and delivered crushing blocks downfield.Yet Ole Miss’ offense, generally, and QB Chad Kelly, particularly, showed the flashes of inconsistency that could haunt the Rebels when they play LSU and Mississippi State, who are superior to Auburn. Kelly threw two interceptions, bringing his season total to 12. As a result, not until late in the game could Ole Miss put away an Auburn team that once again dropped the ball at critical times, drew killing penalties in the red zone and whose quarterback was hobbled all afternoon by a bulky brace on his left leg.Auburn, meanwhile, can’t get it together. The Tigers were haunted by drops for the second week in a row and committed killing penalties in the red zone that forced them to settle for field goals repeatedly in their defeat.
Just like they do everyday, Tuttosport list players who could be moved on at the end of the season, and Perisic continues to be one of the guys who will guarantee the Nerazzurri some good money. The exact amount planned by Inter isn’t revealed, since they want to make €110m with the sales of Perisic and Mauro Icardi altogether. And when speaking of possible destinations for the Croatian international, Tuttosport says he wants a move to the Premier League, where clubs are likely to pay with cash only.Embed from Getty ImagesTottenham Hotspur are named as one of the ‘main candidates’ along with North London rivals Arsenal.Spurs have been linked to Perisic for a while now, and the Italian press continues to encourage the move. Still, we lack seeing reports of real contacts between the clubs so far.by Taboolaby TaboolaSponsored LinksSponsored LinksPromoted LinksPromoted LinksTrending TodayForge of Empires – Free Online GameIf You Like to Play, this City-Building Game is a Must-Have.
