first_imgHome GAA Camogie Two Laois camogie players receive Soaring Star awards GAACamogieSport Facebook Electric Picnic Two Laois camogie players have been named in the All-Ireland Intermediate and Junior team of the year.Aedin Lowry of Camross and Clodagh Tynan of St Brigid’s have been named as goalkeeper and wing back respectibely.This was the first time that the pair had received a Soaring Star award.Champions Down lead the 2020 Soaring Stars Awards, represented by six players; defenders Dearbhla Magee and Fionnuala Carr, midfielder Paula O’Hagan and forwards Sara-Louise Graffan, Niamh Mallon and Sorcha McCartan.Intermediate runners-up Antrim, who defeated Laois in the semi final, are represented by three players; defenders Chloe Drain and Niamh Donnelly along with forward Maeve Kelly.While the team is completed by Lowry, Tynan, Armagh duo Leanne Donnelly and Ciara Donnelly, Cavan’s Róisín O’Keeffe and Meath’s Claire Coffey.Laois manager John Desmond paid tribute to Lowry and Tynan on their remarkable achievement.He said: “This is a proud moment for the two young ladies and their families.
